Inadvertent Intrathecal Contrast Injection during Percutaneous Epidural Neuroplasty: Two Autopsy Cases

Percutaneous epidural neuroplasty (PEN) is an interventional technique used to manage spinal pain. However, the procedure may lead various complications, such as dural puncture and inadvertent intrathecal injection of contrast agents. Conventional autopsy techniques have limitations in identifying these but postmortem computed tomography (PMCT) scans be helpful this respect. The pseudosubarachnoid hemorrhage sign on a PMCT scan important finding that suggests agent during procedure. Here, we report two rare cases mimicked subarachnoid after PEN. These should considered autopsies PEN-related deaths, always performed prior autopsies.
